Troubleshooting tips
In case you experience an issue with connection or loading the game, it is advised to refresh the web page.
If refreshing once or twice does not help, try the troubleshooting measures described below:
Switch to a Different Web Browser
We suggest using Google Chrome as your default browser when playing Word Champs. Make sure that you have updated your browser to the latest version.
If you’re already using Google Chrome as the default browser, try the other troubleshooting tips or switch to a different web browser. Recommended browsers include Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
Troubleshoot Your Browser Performance
Clear your browser cache. It is not necessary to clear cookies or history. Click here to view the instructions.
Check if JavaScript is enabled. Click here to view the instructions.
Connect to the internet using a plug-in (Ethernet) cable rather than wifi.
Close other applications that use the internet connection, especially video-streaming and file-sharing applications.
Disable ad blocking software, as it can negatively affect the game performance. It is possible to disable such software only for specific sites. Please refer to the documentation of your software to view the instructions.
Reboot Your System
If none of the previous measures result in the game loading successfully, we suggest restarting your computer. Make sure to save and close your open applications before restarting.
Try enabling hardware acceleration:
- Click menu icon and go to Settings.
- Click Show advanced settings
- Under System section, check Use hardware acceleration if available and turn it on.
- Restart Chrome.
